Workshops & Retreats

Make the most out of your time together

How it Works

We facilitate half day, full day and multi-day sessions for teams that want more out of an offsite, QBR, Exec Retreat, or Forum Retreat. Every agenda is customized and assembled around agreed-upon outcomes. We genuinely believe in the power of sitting face to face, and we like to make good use of the time together. Our workshops are inspiring to be part of because we build real mutual respect between participants, along with any other shared outcomes. People leave our sessions feeling like the time was well spent.

If you have a large group and would like multiple facilitators, we have a lot of fun with that too. Our facilitators are incredible; many of them have known each other a long time and their shared energy is refreshing and motivating for participants.

What does a session actually DO?

A good session changes the temperature in a team. Some teams need to cool down, take the temperature down, give each other more grace in some areas and return to a more courteous norm. Other teams need a bit more heat and they want to turn the temperature up so they can move past paralyzed politeness. An experienced, intelligent, and charming 3rd party can adjust the temperature on a team, and still have people leave with more goodwill than they came in with.

What is a session good for?

  • Building Relationships: This matters because nobody does any work all by themselves anymore. We don't communicate as well when our relationships are underdeveloped or strained. Well developed relationships can handle a lot more without calling it 'strained'.

  • Temperature Setting or Resetting: We help groups get into a shared state of motivation, or a shared state of respect and commitment, and we introduce new methods of communicating or collaborating.

  • Mergers & Acquisitions: The forum or peer group model is so good for blending teams together. If you want people to leave feeling like they belong, this is the one for you.

  • Give a group an identity or make them feel special: An excellent facilitated session can give a team or a level a real group identity within your organization. A facilitated session can help be a really meaningful investment in a specific group or team.

If you're considering a peer group program: A one-day forum program is an easy and affordable way to see how people respond to the idea of peer groups inside your organization. You can add a session like this to an existing event, or set it up as a standalone event.

When a single session won't work

A single day will not create a lasting change in behavior unless it is part of a larger cascade of 'change support' (clear standards, clear accountability, clear timeline for new expectations, proper motivation, and a clear space in routine). We are happy to be part of your lasting change effort, and we will tailor our session accordingly. What we cannot do is promise to teach your team to do something difficult and risky, like issue-clearing, in a single day.

However, if you want team members who are permanently better at listening well, disagreeing professionally, and asking for help, an ongoing forum program is built to do that.

Let us know what outcomes you need out of your time together.
